Third Eye Blind / Jimmy Eat World

As if summer concert season wasn’t good enough already, the Summer Gods have announced a return to Cleveland! Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind are heading to Cleveland with special guest Ra Ra Riot on July 2nd. The North American amphitheater tour will kick off June 14 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, with dates across the U.S and Canada, before wrapping August 3 in Irvine, CA at FivePoint Amphitheatre.

“The most scintillating, inspiring collective moments of my life have been outdoors in the summer exploding with music,” Third Eye Blind singer Stephan Jenkins said in a statement.  “Those sensations travel from when I was a little kid and rock music was brand new to our last Summer Gods tour, when everything is magically new again. I seek to create that exact blissed-out state of aliveness on tour this summer.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to spend our 25th summer as a band touring the country of our birth to play music for our American fans,” Jimmy Eat World said in a statement.  “Thanks to Third Eye Blind for inviting us to be a part of this amazing tour. We can’t wait to hang out with our fans as well as making some new friends!”

The tour follows Third Eye Blind’s recent announcement of a yet to be named third studio EP, which follows their 2018 EP of cover songs titled Thanks for Everything. The band formed in
San Fransisco in 1993 and found commercial success in the late 1990s, with their albums “Third Eye Blind” and “Blue” going six times and single platinum in the United States, respectively. Several songs were a commercial success as well, with Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, and How’s It Going to Be, all reaching the Top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100, and Never Let You Go reaching the Top 20. Third Eye Blind has sold around 12 million records worldwide.

Jimmy Eat World is celebrating 25 years as a band this summer, making the Summer Gods tour even more significant for them. Their career has been nothing but impressive and includes numerous chart topping singles, including the famous The Middle which was released in 2001 and reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their last album, released in 2016, titled “Integrity Blues” was the 10th best selling album in the United States the week it was released and received numerous positive reviews.

As if the tour wasn’t exciting enough as it is, Third Eye Blind announced that they will to will be voluntarily investing in a carbon offset project in Alaska managed by ClimeCo, The American Land Conservancy, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to offset the carbon footprint of the tour. Additionally, to offset audience travel – the biggest source of carbon emissions from the tour – a portion of each ticket sold will support a US-based ClimeCo carbon offset project.
