“Slow Ride…..Take it EEEEEAAASSY”
Foghat, authors of such classic staples including “Fool For the City,” “I Just Want to Make Love to You,” “Drivin Wheel,” and, of course, their signature tune still played constantly on classic rock stations all across the FM dial, “Slow Ride,” will bring their tour to the unique and intimate The Tangier in Akron, OH on Friday, April 26!
The Kings of Boogie Rock, Foghat has been a mainstay on the music scene since first forming in London in 1971. The band’s unique mix of blues, hard rock, boogie and its signature use of slide guitar has earned the band eight gold records, one platinum album and one double platinum record.
Foghat has released over 20 albums over the years, most all of which feature the band’s unrelenting in-your-face hard rock crunch mixed with the blues, a genre of music the band remains passionate about to this day. They continue to tour non-stop, to the delight of both longtime fans and a younger generation of concert-goers who appreciate and enjoy the band’s music and legacy.
The current lineup includes founding member (and only member to perform in all incarnations of Foghat), Roger Earl, who is joined by Bryan Bassett, (who, as a member of Wild Cherry in the 1970s, had a hit with “Play That Funky Music,”), former Ted Nugent guitarist Charlie Huhn, rounded out by Rodney O’Quinn and Craig MacGregor.
Not content to rest on their laurels, the band released a great new studio album in June 2016 titled ‘Under the Influence,’ and another live album in June of 2017 called ‘Live at the Belly Up.’ Both were given great reviews by press audience alike
All tickets are reserved and priced at $50, $45, or $40. Tickets can be purchased in person at The Tangier or online, below:
